For The Long Run · Long Run Labs
I'm Jon Levitt. I host For The Long Run and Long Run Labs, I run the Long Run Labs Network of 35+ endurance and outdoor shows, and I advise and invest in the brands building this world. I make podcasts about why people run, and about the people building the endurance industry around them.
At the end of May 2025, I bet on myself and went full time on all of this. For years, For The Long Run was the thing I squeezed in around the edges of a day job. I loved it, but it was always fighting for scraps of my attention. Going full time flipped that. The show became the priority instead of the afterthought, and I think you can feel it in the work. The conversations got deeper because I finally had the room to chase them. I wrote up the whole first year, the risks, the math, and what I actually learned, right here.
The best part of this past year has been getting to show up in person. Not flying in for one thing and flying back out, but being somewhere long enough to build something. TrailCon, Leadville, Boulderthon with Fleet Feet, the Double Boston with Mount to Coast. If we cross paths at a race or an event, come say hi. Meeting people who listen is my favorite part of all of it.
For The Long Run is an endurance media company founded by Jon Levitt in 2019. It publishes the For The Long Run podcast, the Long Run Labs Network of 35+ endurance and outdoor shows reaching roughly one million monthly downloads, and a newsletter on the business of endurance sports.
The podcast is where it started. Every week I sit down with athletes, founders, and everyday runners, from Olympians and world champions to first time marathoners, and we get into what actually drives them. The premise has not changed since the first episode. The interesting part of endurance sport is rarely the result. It is the person, the decade behind the result, and what the sport asked of them along the way.
Long Run Labs is two things.
It is a podcast about the business of the outdoor industry, covering how endurance brands actually get built, funded, and marketed.
It is also a network, home to more than 35 endurance and outdoor shows reaching roughly one million downloads a month. Long Run Labs handles sponsorship, strategy, and monetization for independent creators who would rather make their show than sell it.
Long Run Labs sits alongside For The Long Run rather than underneath it. For The Long Run is the company. Long Run Labs is what the company built once one podcast turned out not to be enough. Together the two tell the whole story: the people, the purpose, and the business of endurance.
Four kinds of work, all downstream of the same thing. A decade of relationships across endurance sport, and a habit of writing down what I learn. Before going independent I spent ten years at InsideTracker, working at the intersection of bloodwork, biomarker science, and athlete performance.
Two podcasts, a 35+ show network, and a newsletter published once or twice a week on the business of endurance sports. Read by brand-side operators, founders, and the people who buy media in this industry.
Market research, product seeding programs, sponsorship strategy, and campaign measurement for endurance and outdoor brands. Including original studies on how endurance brands actually get discovered and recommended.
Angel investments in early-stage endurance, outdoor, and health companies, plus advisory roles and introductions between founders and investors who understand the category.
Co-founder of The Huddle, a peer advisory community for founders. Co-launched Trail House, a documentary project following post-collegiate trail runners.
Sponsorship across For The Long Run and the Long Run Labs Network, designed around real buying cycles rather than one-month tests.
Research and consulting, including market research, seeding programs, campaign measurement, and go-to-market strategy.
Advisory, for founders who want an operator inside the endurance industry rather than a generalist outside it.

That trust in this industry compounds and cannot be bought. That small shows punch above their weight, because a recommendation from someone you have listened to for four years is not the same thing as an impression. That the endurance industry deserves the same quality of trade press, research, and capital that its athletes take for granted.
And that most things worth doing take longer than you planned. Hence the name.
If you care about running, racing, performance, the athletes pushing the sport, and the storytelling and creator economy around it, you are in the right place.
